Butter Lamps

A butter lamp can be found in every Tibetan temple or household. The Tibetans place it on the altar and light it as an offering. Traditionally, Tibetans wrap a wick in it and prepare butter, which they pour into the lamp. The butter solidifies in the cold Himalayan conditions and the lamp is then ready to be lit.

In our conditions, a tea candle can be inserted into the lamp or it can be filled with sand and used for heating various heating mixtures.

We have a choice of a smaller brass, smooth lamp or a larger beautifully engraved one.
